The Fearless Pursuit

ABOUT ME

Hi! I'm Katy, a follower of Jesus and lover of adventure.

I am 18 years old, and I have a passion for my Savior. I enjoy each moment spent in His presence, aim to grow only closer to Him, and desire to encourage my fellow sisters in Christ to pursue the same. I also deeply love writing and travel, with photography and singing following close behind.

I have always felt I had the most success in accomplishing what I wanted to say when writing, but I only recently realized how much I have come to love all forms of writing. Because of this discovery, this blog began. Its purpose is to provide insight on Christian topics and encouragement for its readers, as well as maintain an opportunity for me to use my gift for God's glory and Kingdom.

Travel has held a special place in my heart since I was a little girl - I'm pretty sure I was hooked the moment I saw the Statue of Liberty poke her torch through the clouds from the window of an airplane. I was only five, but ever since I've had a love for sightseeing and globetrotting, and that love has only grown stronger as I've gotten older. My biggest dream is to travel the world and visit as many countries as possible. I also hope to visit at least one National Park in each of the 50 United States (preferably all if possible). My passion for adventure and travel is directly associated with my love of nature and being surrounded by God's Creation, and my adoration of photography and capturing timeless memories correlates perfectly with the same deep appreciation. This blog reflects these interests and displays how to live our temporary lives on earth knowing this life is a journey to our true Home, rather than a constant we should grow our roots in. It will also show how our heavenly Father faithfully pursues us and loves us with an unconditional, reckless love, and how we are to make our earthly lives a fearless pursuit of Christ in return, regardless of what anyone around us says.

Last, but certainly not least, music is very dear to my heart. All my life, I have sung songs throughout my day, and often written my own lyrics and (attempted) notes as well. I have taken piano lessons for 7 years, and been on my youth group's praise team for 3 years. But, it was more recently that I discovered how profound my love is for worship music specifically. As my relationship with my Savior has grown, I have wanted more and more to praise Him constantly, no matter the circumstances. Now that I have found a sort of genre in the worship music community that I connect to the most, I feel (even more than all along) a certain freedom and true joy that I believe comes only from Jesus. Worship is a way to experience God's love firsthand, give Him the glory for everything He has done, and be filled with His fullness, and that connection is one I want to live my life in light of every single day. Since singing and worship have had such an impact on my physical and spiritual lives, it will often contribute to my blogs and demonstrate the relevance of a heart of worship in order to truly fearlessly pursue Jesus Christ.

I believe our purpose as a people is to continually worship, and live our lives for, our Savior. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to redeem us, that we might spend eternity with our Maker. His love is endless, unconditional, sincere, and awesome in the literal sense. In our time on earth, we are called to live for our Creator, focusing our eyes on our Father Who leads the way. Those around us in this waiting room we call life may look at us differently, judge us, or even shut us out completely, but the instant we choose to live our lives as a fearless pursuit of the Prince of Peace, none of that matters. This blog is designed to encourage and uplift you along your own journey as you choose to live out that fearless pursuit, help you apply Biblical truths to your own individual life, and remind you why we as Christians are chosen and called to this purpose. When properly placed as foremost, God opens our eyes to what is truly important, we are surrounded by love and grace, and we begin to understand His calling for us and our journey back Home to Him. That, my friend, is how I want to live my life _ wholly and completely. And I know each moment in His presence is more than worth the possible temporary worldly rejection. Will you join me? - K

"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through Him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit Who has been given to us."

- Romans 5:1-5

"Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He Who promised is faithful." - Hebrews 10:23

"Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer." - Romans 12:12

"The sky and the earth won't last forever, but my words will." - Matthew 24:35

"The Lord is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know Your name trust in You, for You, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek You." - Psalm 9:9-10

"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." - 1 Corinthians 15:57-58

"May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit" - Romans 15:13
